A Victorian house in west London with a loft extension with a twist. Architect Ian Hume of Totem+ studios specified oak engineered flooring to bridge between the original and new aspects of the house. The new stairs bounces the light and the walk in wardrobe is enhanced by a skylight. 

up cycling and repurposing appears to be a theme too. I noticed the apothecary cabinet built into the bathroom wall, and the kitchen cabinet fronts are made from chemistry lab worktops.

Tom Dixon light shades set off the kitchen diner, and I’ve become very apt at ensuring I’m not in the reflections.
